DIY glitter cold cup / tumbler

Hello Sweethearts,

Today I'm going to show you how to make your own glitter cold cup / tumbler. I have been working on this DIY for a while now && I'm really excited to show you the result && a how to make it yourself!

What you need for this DIY:
  • Glitter
  • Glue
  • A paint brush
  • Paper
  • A regular tumbler or cold cup.
  • Transparent satin finish

I polished the bottom of my tumbler with some nail polish just because I wasn't sure if I wanted to be sparkly. This optional.

I spread some glitter on a sheet of paper. Than I used the paint brush to put the glue evenly on my tumbler. I waited a second && than I rolled my tumbler over the glitters.
After I covered my whole tumbler I waited a day. So the glue could dry. && than I checked if the whole tumbler was covered with glitter. I applied glue to the places that weren't covered & sprankled some glitter on it.
I waited an other day to dry.

This is how my tumbler looked after the glue was dry.

To seal in the glitters I used transparent satin finish. I applied with another paint brush the transparent satin finish. I eventually applied three layers.
The first layer I applied very thick, so the glitter started to drip. This gave a very nice effect on the nail polished part of my tumbler.
After that layer was dry, which took a day. I mixed a little bit of transparent satin finish with the glitter to fill up the holes. [Because the dripping created some holes in the even glitter layer.] After that dried I applied another layer. I than waited a day and applied the last layer.
-You could also skip the whole glue part && mix the transparent satin finish with the glitter and apply it right away on the tumbler. -

I have been using this thumbler for the past two weeks. The glitters stays on perfectly. Washing the thumbler is also no problemo.

An easy DIY [or should I say GIY] with a glamerious result.
Of course
I would love to see pictures if you're going to recreate this!
