Today I'm going to review the Ultra Strobe cream by Makeup Revolution. I know that there are already thousand of review out there. The reason I still decided to write about it is because I recently re-discovered it and it has become my new favourite highlighter. Also MAC cosmetics recently released their own version of this strobe cream and I'm think about buying it. If I buy it I might want to compare review in a review, since the price difference is A LOT.
Makeup Revolution about this product:
'Do you want Radiant looking skin? The Makeup Revolution Strobe Cream can either be applied under the foundation to give yourself a glow or on top of foundation to highlight. A creamy formula that soaks into your skin quickly if applied before foundation or easily blendable for those highlighted areas.
Give yourself a beautiful golden glow to your skin and a more radiant appearance.'
I use this cream on top of my liquid foundation.[side note: I do set my liquid foundation with powder foundation but I skip the area in which I'm going to apply the cream. I do this because creams or liquids on top of powder are most likely going to crack or turn ugly.]
The way I apply this cream is by putting a little drop on my finger. Than I evenly put some over the highlight area with a dapping motion.
It gives a long wear high shine that I absolutely love to have. The way I wear it it's not a blinding highlighter. I do get a lot of compliments when I wear this cream from fellow highlighter lovers.
My advice around this strobe cream is play around with it. When I first got it the shine looked too strong to me. After trying it out a few times I found the way I like to wear it. This strobe cream is easy to build up to a high shine so I would recommending starting with a very small drop.
I liked to set this strobe cream with my MAC Mineralize skinfinish in 'Landscape'. It helps build up the shine but also dull it out a bit so it's not an unnatural highlight.
The Ultra Strobe cream is available at TAMbeauty for €11.21 (I can't remember for how much I got it).
